PREP & POST SPRAY TAN

SPRAY TAN PREP

  1. Hair Removal and Exfoliation

All hair removal and exfoliation must be done 24 hours prior to your appointment. Exfoliation is a non-negotiable. Please use a Kessa mitt for best results. Please note, a loofa or a wash cloth will not properly prepare your skin.

  2. Body Wash

Never use any body wash that is antibacterial or one that contains sulfate or mineral oils. Soaps like Dove, bath and body works, Olay, and aveeno are not spray tan friendly. We recommend using Native Body Wash or Shea Moisture Body Wash.

  3. Appointments

Your spray tan should be your last beauty service appointment you complete before your event. This means manicures, pedicures, waxing, threading, and eyelash extensions should be done prior!

  4. Warm Water Rinse

If your schedule allows for it, please take a warm water only rinse prior to coming into the salon. This allows you to remove any potential barriers on the skin that can negatively impact your spray tan. This rinse will remove residues from deodorant, perfume, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, etc from your shower the day before.

Please do not use any body wash at this time, strictly water!

  5. Bare Skin

Be sure to show up with no makeup, perfume, lotion, or deodorant on. Please have all jewelry removed, and have dark loose fitting clothing on. Do not wear anything tight, no leggings, no sports bras, no socks and sneakers! Bring flip flops and always have an umbrella. Weather is unpredictable and it can rain at any time!

    POST TAN CARE

  6. Skin Contact/Sweating

Avoid all contact with water and refrain from any physical activity that can cause you to sweat until after you have rinsed off.

  7. Rinsing Off

Rinsing off is recommended 3-5 hours for our quick service and 8-12 hours for our regular service. During your rinse, please only use warm water while using your hands in light circular motions to help guide all solution off of your body evenly. Rinse off until the water runs from brown to completely clear! Before drying off by gently patting your skin with a towel, look in the mirror to make sure no spots were missed while rinsing off.

  8. Drying Off

Gently pat your skin dry with a towel or air dry! Do not be abrasive with towels. Be sure to not use wash cloths or loofas for the next week!

  9. Color Development

Your tan will appear lighter after you have taken your first warm water only rinse. Your tan will continue to develop and get darker over the next 24 hours, or until you shower with soap. Once you shower with soap, please make sure you are using sulfate free and mineral oil free soap! Once you have done so, you can start to use lotion again! Please moisturize 2x daily.
